The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired the rights to G Tomas Vokoun and promptly signed him to a two-year/$4 million contract extension. Pittsburgh sent the Washington Capitals a seventh round pick in exchange for the right to negotiate with Vokoun. He would have become an unrestricted free agent this summer
