Los Angeles Dodgers star center fielder, Matt Kemp, went a perfect 3 for 3 Friday night during a 3-1 win over the Houston Astros. Kemp hit a first inning two-run shot for his league leading 8th home run of the season. The two runs that crossed the plate also gave him the league lead in runs batted in (20), surpassing teammate RF Andre Ethier who was sitting on 19 RBI after the game. Kemp’s perfect night at the plate also raised his batting average to .481, which is also tops among Major League Baseball’s elite. Sitting at second place in the early season home run race is New York Yankees CF Curtis Granderson (6), who is currently leading the American League after his 3 home run performance Thursday night against the Twins.
