Jered Weaver placed on 15-day DL

Along with Philadelphia Phillies ace, Roy Halladay, Jered Weaver has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a lower back injury which forced him from his start Monday night after just 12 pitches. The Los Angeles Angels currently have no timetable for their star pitcher’s return and have called up young right-handed pitcher, Garrett Richards, from Triple-A Salt Lake. Weaver hopes to only miss this weekend’s start against the Texas Rangers but it’s looking closer to two or three starts.
