Good news for Tribe fans: Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis continues to put together a very impressive rookie season. The 25-year-old played long ball
for the 6th time this season Thursday night against Boston (2-5 1HR 1RBI 2R) and is now batting a very respectable .270 through 122 plate appearances. He trails only Kelly Johnson of the Toronto Blue Jays – who has 7 home runs – for the league lead in home runs by a 2B. He leads all two-baggers with 21 RBI and is also second in stolen bases (6) among second baseman. Additionally, his 21 runs scored is also third in the league behind Dustin Pedroia and Ian Kinsler.
Kipnis is currently ranked 19th overall and first among 2B eligible players in standard Yahoo! Sports fantasy baseball leagues and is proving to be an excellent draft day bargain (ADP of 200 according to CBS Sports). The Indians sit on top of the AL Central Division with a solid record of 18-13 which includes an impressive road record of 10 and 3.
